Make an EnquiryBoasting the largest swimming pool in Cuba, the 24 Hour All Inclusive Playa Pesquero Resort also known as the Playa Pesquero Hotel, is found on the beach for which the hotel was named. On the north east coast of Cuba, with soft white sands gently shelving into the clear turquoise blue sea the hotel is just a 60 minute transfer from the airport and caters for everyone.

Set in 72.6 acres, this hotel has an air of space and relaxation and is based on a ‘railroad’ theme’ with a genuine old steam locomotive at the front of the hotel sweeping around the beautifully manicured grounds. The Playa Pesquero Resort was inaugurated by Cuba’s President, Fidel Castro, on 21st January 2003.
There’s a total of 944 rooms at the Playa Pesquero Resort. The 552 standard double rooms feature two double beds or one King Size bed and sleep up to 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children. There are 344 superior rooms. Eight standard rooms have full wheelchair access and the hotel itself benefits from wheelchair access and disabled facilities.
All ‘bungalows’ are low rise, being only two storey’s high, and are furnished to a high standard with a terrace or balcony, fully equipped bathroom, air conditioning, mini bar replenished daily, satellite TV, CD player, direct dial telephone, coffee/tea facilities, hairdryer, pamper packs, iron and ironing board and in room digital safe. Superior rooms offer the same facilities as the standard rooms with the addition of express check-in, a bottle of rum, lobster dinner at an a la carte restaurant, bathrobes and a living area.
Family rooms (not interconnecting): same service as standard rooms but with two standard rooms guaranteed to be situated next door to each other but do not have an interconnecting door guaranteed. These rooms the child price applies to children up to and including 13 years of age at the date of return and is exclusive for families of 2 adults and two or three children.
Superior rooms: same services as standard rooms but more spacious, sitting area, entry hall, full bathroom with dressing area, total area of 43,90 sq meters, 1 extra bed per room. Maximum occupancy: 3 adults or 2 adults + 2 children. Adjoining rooms for families and 8 rooms adapted for handicapped guests.
Added values: bottle of Cuban rum on arrival, minibar restocked everyday including 1 bottle of water, 2 local beers, 2 soft drinks and 2 natural juices, reservations for a la carte restaurants made prior to arrival.
Superior PLUS: same services as superior rooms, 1 extra bed per room, maximum occupancy 3 adults or 2 adults + 1 child.
Added values: Express check in, welcome cocktail with sparkling wine or natural juice, bottle of wine and delicatessen in room on arrival, daily turn down service, reservations for a la carte restaurants made prior to arrival, use of bathrobes and slippers during whole stay, in room selection of tea and coffee, 25% reduction on all laundry services, 10% reduction on selected SPA treatments, free late checkout till 14:00 hours.
There are no less than eight bars including Karaoke/Disco, Swim up bar, additional pool bar, beach club bar, 24 hour Beer Garden (with 24 hour ‘freshly cooked to order’ snacks), main lobby bar (24 hours), beach bar and theatre bar. There is also a coffee bar serving everything from creamy lattes to Spanish Coffee.
Guests can choose from a variety of seven restaurants including two buffet restaurants (one Cuban and one International) and five A La Cartes; Caribbean, Romantica, Italian, Grill and the Seafood restaurant on the beach. Don’t forget, if you book your Playa Pesquero Holiday with us, we can pre-book your a la carte restaurants before you leave the UK! There are also two specialist restaurants now available, The ‘Bistro’ Steak House (payable locally at 10 CUC per person) and the Beach BBQ (payable locally at 18 CUC per person). Four visits per week to a la carte restaurants are included as standard within the All Inclusive arrangement. In addition to these, take a walk to the Boulevard at the Playa Pesquero Resort where you will find the Mediterranean restaurant open for late breakfast and lunch, and a restaurant that opens between 13.00 and 15.00 hours serving different combinations of chicken and chips! Not forgetting the Ice Cream Parlour, and the 24 hour Beer Garden. Once a week the hotel provides guests with a ‘taste of Cuba’, including a Hog Roast and authentic Cuban rice, beans, fried plantain bananas and salad with traditionally ground Cuban Coffee.
With the largest freeform swimming pool in Cuba, you will never have to hunt for a sun lounger or space to enjoy the stunning pool. There is a ‘quieter’ end preferred by families where access to the pool is a gentle slope whilst at the other end you will find the swim-up bar and the separate activities pool where you can join in with aqua aerobics or water volleyball and or perhaps an introductory diving lesson in the pool. There are plenty of ‘cabanas’ under which to find shade and beach/pool towels are provided by the hotel with a towel hut at the beach and the pool for you to change your towel as regularly as you wish.
The hotel has a fitness centre and sauna for those who like to keep in trim and massage (payable locally) on offer with Jacuzzis round the pool and at the fitness centre. On the beach you will find non-motorised watersports as part of your All Inclusive package including snorkelling, windsurfing, sailing, kayaks and pedalos. On dry land, facilities to keep you entertained include three tennis courts, table tennis, volleyball, football, bicycle hire and/or tours, badminton, basketball, pool, archery and rifle shooting. Horseback riding is also available (payable locally).
For guests who like to be kept entertained, the Playa Pesquero Resort animation team offers a variety of activities during the day and will keep you entertained all through the evening. Daytime activities include Salsa Lessons, Spanish language lessons, games room, and pool activities and games. During the evening there is a nightly cabaret show followed by Karaoke and Disco until the early hours of the morning.
The numerous services on hand at thel Playa Pesquero Resort include 24 hour room service (charge applies) reception/concierge where staff will be pleased to help with obtaining taxis, horse and carriage trips etc, Bureau de Change, Gift Shops, Boutiques, Tobacconist, Hairdresser & Beautician, Massage, Scuba Diving, Library, Internet, Doctor (24 hours) and Laundry facilities.
There is a personal wedding planner at the hotel who can arrange extra special finishing touches such as a Horse and Carriage to take you to your selected venue; whether that’s on the beach in the beautiful White Wedding Gazebo or in the hotel grounds is up to you. You can also have your Wedding Meal on the Beach at Sunset (extra cost may apply). All this and more can be arranged in resort. Wedding Guests and Honeymooners receive FREE upgrade to Deluxe Room (subject to availability) with Sparkling Wine on Ice in your room on arrival.
The Playa Pesquero Resort runs its own supervised activities programmes for children in the children’s club which has its own mini pool. There is a Baby Club from 2 to 4 years old, Miniclub from 5 to 12 years old and a teenagers club which accommodates 13 to 17 year olds. The hotel also offers a Baby Sitter service payable locally.
