Discover Cuba Tours

For a great introduction to this isalnds nation, the Discover Cuba Tours provides an insight into the history and culture of the captivating country of Cuba. Explore and experience the vibrant capital of Havana before venturing into the island’s fascinating colonial heartland.

DAY 1 – Havana

Upon arrival in Havana, transfer to the historic hotel Nacional de Cuba for 3 nights staying in a standard room

DAY 2 – Havana

Visit the imposing El Morro Castle, set across the bay with magnificent views over Havana. After El Morro, continue to the Old Town of Havana and visit the City Museum, Hemingway’s home and a cigar factory. Lunch is at a local restaurant and is followed by an afternoon visit to the modern part of Havana. In the evening enjoy dinner at the famous Tocororo Restaurant.

DAY 3 – Havana to Trinidad

Leave Havana and depart by road to Trinidad (200 miles). En route visit the town of Santa Clara, the capital of Villa Clara provine and synonymous with Che Guevara, followed by lunch. Continue on to Trinidad stopping off en route for a tour of Sancti Spiritus City. For the next two nights you will check in for a stay at the Iberostar Trinidad. Begin the following day with a short tour of the towns historical buildings and cobbled streets. Following lunch visit the Valle de Los Ingenios, where you can see the ruins of sugar mills destroyed during the two wars of independence.

DAY 5 – Trinidad

Journey by road to the colonial village of Remedios (70 miles) where you can enjoy a city tour and visit the sugar factory museum which shows the history of this important Cuban indusrty. Stay at either Mascotte or Barcelona Hotel for one night.

DAY 6 – Trinidad to Cienfuegos

Today you will continue on to the elegent city of Cienfuegos which was settled by the French. The city’s 19th Century architecture and seaside setting is spectacular. A tour of the city and a boat trip on Cienfuegos Bay is included. Lunch is at a local restaurant and you will stay overnight at either Hotel La Union or Hotel Jagua Cienfuegos. (59 miles)

DAY 7 – Varadero

Transfer by road to Varadero for 5 nights at Paradisus Varadero Resort & Spa (117 miles) .

DAY 12 – Varadero to Havana

Return to Havana to connect with your flight home.

Notes

This tour is escorted by a local English speaking guide from day 2 until day 7. At your beach hotel in Varadero assistance will be provided by a local representative

Maximum passengers on this tour is 26. No children and not recommended for people with walking difficulties.

The accommodation for the hotels away from Havana and the beach resort is limited. Hotels chosen reflect the history of the country and all hotels are at least 3 star.
